For curly to coily hair, whose lengths dry out fast. Before washing, a flaxseed oil bath on the lengths. Afterwards, on damp hair, aloe vera gel to tame frizz and help define curls, then a little avocado butter on the ends.

Flaxseed oil oxidises quickly: keep it in the fridge once opened and smell it before use. Patch test before first use.

Frequently asked questions

Why keep flaxseed oil in the fridge?

It is rich in omega-3 and oxidises quickly. Keep it in the fridge once opened and use it up quickly. If it smells rancid or like paint, stop using it.

Won't the butter weigh my curls down?

Adjust to your hair: on fine hair, a very small amount, on the ends only. On coily, thick hair, a little more.

Can I swap the flaxseed oil or avocado butter?

Yes. Avocado or jojoba oil also suit the pre-wash oil bath; shea or mango butter suit the ends.
