Terms and conditions of sale

1. Purpose and scope

These terms and conditions of sale (the "Terms") apply to any order placed on the LAMA Organics website by an individual acting as a consumer. They are governed by Mauritian law, including the Mauritian Civil Code and consumer protection legislation.

By sending your order, you confirm that you have read and accepted the Terms in force on that date.

3. Products

We sell natural cosmetic products: natural oils (59 ml), butters (50 g) and aloe vera gel (100 g), individually or grouped in rituals. Each product page shows its composition as we know it, its size, how to use it and its precautions.

Our products are natural and minimally processed: their colour, scent or texture may vary slightly from one batch to another, and photographs are for illustration only. These variations are not a defect.

Our products are cosmetics: they are not health products and do not replace medical advice.

Products are offered while stocks last. If a product becomes unavailable after you order, we let you know and offer an equivalent product or remove the item from your order.

4. Prices

Prices are shown in Mauritian rupees (Rs, MUR), all taxes included. Pick-up is free: no charge is added to the price of the products.

We may change our prices at any time. The price that applies is the one shown when you send your order.

5. Ordering

  1. You add the products of your choice to your basket.
  2. You enter your details and your preferred payment method, then check the summary.
  3. You send your order. No payment is requested on the website.
  4. You receive an email summary with your order number.
  5. We contact you to confirm the order, payment and your pick-up appointment.

The contract of sale is formed when we confirm your order. We may refuse an order in case of suspected fraud, abnormal quantities or an obvious pricing error.

6. Payment

Payment is made after we confirm, never on the website. Accepted methods are:

  • MCB Juice;
  • bank transfer: the details are given to you when we confirm.

Payment is made before pick-up.

Card payments are not offered.

7. Pick-up

We do not deliver for now. Orders are collected for free at Natural Hair Culture Ltd, next to Matthieu Opticien, Beau Bassin, by appointment only. Details are on the Order pick-up page.

Please give a phone number we can reach to agree on the appointment. Check your products at pick-up.

8. Right of return

You have 7 days from pick-up to bring a product back, on the following conditions:

  • the product is unopened, with its cap or seal intact;
  • it is in its complete original packaging.

For hygiene and safety reasons, an opened product cannot be taken back unless it is defective.

To use this right, first email hello@lamaorganics.com with your order number and the products concerned. Once the products are checked, we refund the price paid.

9. Defective products or errors

If a product is defective or does not match your order, email hello@lamaorganics.com with your order number and, if possible, a photo. We offer an exchange or a refund for the item concerned.

These provisions are in addition to the guarantees you are entitled to under Mauritian law.

10. Use of products and precautions

Our products are for external use. Before use, read the advice and precautions on the product page and on the label.

  • Patch test: for any new product, apply a small amount inside your elbow and wait 48 hours. If you react, do not use the product.
  • Oils with a little added essential oil (lavender, rosemary, geranium, tea tree, eucalyptus): follow the directions on their page and avoid the eye area. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or for a child, ask a health professional first.
  • Storage: away from light, heat and moisture, out of the reach of children.

If you have any doubt about your situation (pregnancy, very reactive skin, known allergy), ask a health professional before using our products.

11. Offers

No offers or promo codes are available on the website for now. Bottle return: if you say in your order that you are bringing back your empty LAMA bottles, and you bring them at pick-up, you get 5% off that order. This discount does not apply to purchases made from Natural Hair Culture, whose sales, stock and prices are separate from this website.

12. Liability

We undertake to describe our products accurately and to hand over products that match your order. We cannot be held liable for use that does not follow the advice and precautions given, for improper storage, or for any impediment caused by force majeure (severe weather, cyclone, strike, among others).

Nothing in these Terms limits the rights Mauritian law gives you as a consumer.

13. Personal data

The data you give us is used to process your order, to contact you about payment and pick-up and, if you have agreed, to send you our newsletter. Its use is governed by the Data Protection Act 2017. To find out more and exercise your rights, see our privacy policy.

14. Intellectual property

The LAMA Organics® brand, logo, texts, photographs and website content are protected. Any reproduction without written permission is prohibited.

15. Disputes and governing law

These Terms are governed by Mauritian law. If there is a problem, please email hello@lamaorganics.com first: we will look for an amicable solution with you. You may also contact the consumer protection services in Mauritius. Failing an amicable agreement, the dispute will be brought before the competent Mauritian courts.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page. The Terms that apply to your order are those in force when you send it.
