Who we are

LAMA means “live”.

Natural care for hair and skin, rooted in Africa, with globally sourced ingredients.

LAMA Organics® is a Mauritian brand of natural care for hair and skin: oils, butters and aloe vera gel, made with ingredients sourced from around the world.

Why LAMA?

Our brand is rooted in the rich tapestry of Africa, the birthplace of humanity, and brings together modernity and cultural significance.

We looked for a name that resonates with the continent. “LAMA”, from an African dialect spoken in the Congo, means “live”: both a command to live and a hopeful invitation to embrace life.

It echoes our belief in the connection between all beings and nature. We want every product to carry that spirit of vitality, and to encourage everyone to live fully, in harmony with the world around them.

What we make

  • 20 natural oils in 59 ml bottles, for hair, scalp, skin and beard.
  • 4 butters in 50 g jars: shea from Ghana, mango, cocoa and avocado.
  • An aloe vera gel in a 100 g jar.

Each product page gives its composition as we know it, how to use it and the precautions to take. A few oils (lavender, rosemary, geranium, tea tree, eucalyptus) contain a small amount of added essential oil: it is written on their page.
